Christina Abrams, MD
University of South Carolina

Dr. Abrams is originally from South Carolina. She obtained her undergraduate degree for the University of Tennessee Knoxville and returned home to peruse her medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. Tina enjoys baking, spending time with her husband, and playing with her 2 dogs. She is happy to be returning back to Tennessee and is looking forward to exploring the outdoor life here in Memphis.

Maggie Besler, MD
Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin

Dr. Belser was born and raised in central Illinois. She studied Psychology and Chemistry at the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign. After living in Chicago for medical school, she is very excited to venture out of her home state and head south to Memphis (where it hopefully won’t snow in April)! Maggie is an active yogi and runner who enjoy’ s traveling. She loves to try new restaurants and is looking forward to the BBQ Memphis has to offer.

Jennifer Biggs, MD
Saint Louis University

Dr. Biggs (Jen) grew up in the Kansas City, KS area and loves her Kansas sunflowers. She attended Creighton University in Omaha, NE for her undergraduate degree. Despite growing up a K-State Wildcat, she fell in love with a KU Jayhawk, and followed him to Saint Louis for his PhD in Immunology. She worked as a teacher and in women’s health research, both of which prompted her decision to pursue her MD at Saint Louis University. She has loved getting to know the city of Saint Louis, and has become quite a beer snob. She is excited to explore the craft breweries, BBQ, and blues scenes of Memphis!

Sarah Carey, MD
University of Florida

Dr. Carey was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL and attended the University of Florida for her undergraduate education, where she earned a B.S. in Chemistry. She stayed at the University of Florida for her medical degree and met her wonderful fiancé, Kyle, who is starting his Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery residency in Memphis. In her spare time, Sarah enjoys hiking, biking, going to the beach, having game nights, trying new foods, watching sci-fi movies, making art, interior decoration, and spending time with her friends and family.

Bo Cox, MD
East Tennessee State University

Dr. Cox was born and raised in Marietta, Georgia and moved to Knoxville to attend the University of Tennessee, where he received his undergraduate degree in Geography, while there he met his beautiful wife Becca. In 2008 while on a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail Bo, realized his calling for medicine. In his spare time, he enjoys playing music, going to the movies, playing outdoors and being overly technical about coffee making. He and his wife are excited about the Memphis’ music scene and are looking forward to fly fishing and rock climbing in the Ozarks. He plans on doing a Gastroenterology fellowship.

Dr. Edwards grew up in Memphis, TN. He attended Furman University where he received a degree in Biology. He moved back to Memphis as part of the Teach for America program. Price likes to be outside in Overton Park with his wife and daughter. He enjoys concerts, exploring new restaurants, reading and watching the Grizzlies play. He is excited to continue his training right here in Memphis.

Natalie Francis, MD
University of Tennessee Health Science Center

Dr. Francis was born and raised in Memphis, TN. She graduated from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville with a B.S. in Biochemistry and moved back to Memphis to attend medical school at UTHSC (GO VOLS!). Natalie and husband Hugh, love cheering on the Memphis Grizzlies, going to the Memphis Zoo, and attending events at the Orpheum Theater. In her spare time, she enjoys visiting the Farmer’s Market downtown, walking on the greenline, and trying out all types of new recipes. This is a very exciting time for the city of Memphis, and she is happy to be a part of the community!

Liza Gamble, MD

Dr. Gamble is a native Memphian. After receiving a degree in nursing from the University of Memphis, she worked at the Church Health Center and Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital as a nurse before attending medical school. Liza’s husband, Louis, will also be joining the UT system as a surgery intern. The two of them have a labradoodle named Margaret as well as seven chickens. Both are excited to be continuing their medical training in Memphis!

University of Toledo

Dr. Goldman was born and raised in Cleveland, OH. She attended The Ohio State University for undergrad, where she majored in Microbiology and minored in Public Health. Afterward Laruen attended the University of Toledo College of Medicine. In her free time, Lauren enjoys spending time with family and friends, cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes, traveling, working out and baking. She is excited to finally leave the cold Ohio weather behind and experience all Memphis has to offer.

Brittany Graham, MD
University of Texas-Galveston

Dr. Graham was born and raised in Texas, where her family still resides. She attended the Texas Academy of Leadership in the Humanities and then proceeded to complete a bachelor’s Degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry at Lamar University Beaumont. Brittany has a twin sister, a brother and two very loving parents that she will miss dearly! She enjoys dancing, yoga, baking, and cooking Indian food! She cannot wait to start this new journey in Pediatrics and looks forward to meeting and working with a great group of people.

Amanda Green, MD
University of Washington

Dr. Green was born in a small town in Kansas, and grew up near Seattle, Washington. She graduated from Seattle University with a BS in Biology, and then did basic science research for the next five years in infectious diseases. Amanda moved to Memphis in 2010 to work at St. Jude Children’s Hospital, and loved the people and city so much that she kept coming back while she attended medical school at the University of Washington. She likes playing soccer, board games, being crafty, and playing with her two cats Madi and Pepi. Amanda is excited and proud to be working at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital.

Meredith “Linley” Harvie, MD
University of Mississippi

Dr. Harvie, was born and raised in Oxford, MS and attended Carson-Newman University in Jefferson City, TN for undergrad. Although she did not attend Ole Miss for undergrad, she is a diehard Ole Miss Rebels fan. Linley recently had a baby girl in December 2014 and can’t remember what life was like without her. Her favorite things to do are Crossfit with her husband Jack, hangout with her baby girl Anniston, and play with her two pups Chloe and Lyla. She is excited about moving closer to home and to explore all the wonderful things in Memphis.

Cory Jones, MD
Saint Louis University

Dr. Jones grew up in a small town called Idaho Falls, ID as the oldest of four children. Following high school he spent two years on a mission trip to Sweden where he learned to speak fluent Swedish. Upon his return to the States he studied at Brigham Young University where he received dual degrees in Athletic Training and Exercise Science. While there he met his wife, a native of Knoxville, TN. They are the proud parents of 3 children, Jordyn, Emery and Dane. He loves to spend his free time outdoors, and enjoys baseball, camping, and fishing.

Samantha Ketron, MD

Dr. Ketron is originally from Kingsport, TN. That’s about as far from Memphis as you can get and still be in the state. You can actually get to Canada faster from Kingsport than to Memphis. Samantha received her BS in Biology and Chemistry at Emory & Henry College in Virginia. Samantha is a huge UT football fan and in her spare time enjoys being outside, biking, swimming, and traveling with her husband, Brody. Samantha is excited to stay in Memphis for another 3 years, but even more excited to make some great friends.

Ashley Kiefer, MD
Tulane University

Dr. Kiefer was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. Ashley studied Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and Art History at Tulane University. Her medical school senior superlatives were “biggest southern bell”, “most school spirited” and “most likely to never leave New Orleans”. She is thrilled to say she proved them wrong on the last one. A few other fun facts about her, she loves fantasy football, Disney, Fro-yo, J Crew outlets and Netflix. She hates scary movies, temps over 80, coca cola, reality TV, and wet grass. If you need to find her, check a local coffee shop or running trail. She can’t wait to meet everyone.

Meleah Morales, DO
Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine

Dr. Morales grew up in Springfield, MO. She met her husband, Ricardo, in college and got married her first year in Medical School. They love to be outside with their dogs, Tony and Sandy. Meleah also enjoys traveling, trying out new recipes from Pinterest, crocheting, karaoke, board games, movies and group workout sessions (she is a licensed Zumba instructor!). During college she traveled to El Salvador and India on medical mission trips. She wants be a general pediatrician and work in underserved areas after residency. She is thrilled to be a part of the amazing UT Pediatrics team!

Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine

Dr. Patel grew up in Lakeland, FL a small city in between Tampa and Orlando. She graduated from the University of South Florida in 2007 with a degree in Biology. She then moved to Suwanee, GA to experience different kinds of seasons and to attend the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine-GA campus. During her free time, Ruchi loves to dance, sing, run and cook! Ruchi is incredibly excited to move to Memphis and start a new chapter of her life.

Wright State University

Dr. Robertson, grew up in Cincinnati, OH and is a huge Reds baseball fan. She when to the University of Dayton for undergrad where she studied Psychology and Spanish. Sara took two years off to work in a neuroimaging research lab at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, before starting medical school. Sara loves traveling, watching sports, trying new foods and being creative. She’s excited to get away from Ohio’s winters and branching out to explore Memphis!

Dr. Robinson grew up in Memphis, and graduated from the University of Mississippi, with a degree in International Studies. After having been a patient, volunteer and student at Le Bonheur, Lauren is extremely happy to begin her career as a pediatrician at such a wonderful place. When not at Le Bonheur she enjoys spending time with her husband, Jay, her son Fort, and the family’s Golden Retriever rescue Rosie.

Kyla Tolliver, MD

University of Kentucky School of Medicine

Dr. Tolliver grew up on a farm in the small town of Greenup, KY. She earned her undergraduate degree in Chemistry at Georgetown College. Kyla is passionate about global health and pediatric oncology. During medical school she spent five weeks in Costa Rica and four weeks in Zambia on medical mission trips. In her free time, she enjoys reading, hiking, traveling, cooking, attending concerts, watching movies and game nights. She is also an avid sports fan. Her favorite sports team, of course, is the University of Kentucky. Dr. Tolliver is excited for her move to the city of Blues and BBQ!

She recently married her high school sweetheart, Brad, and is very excited to begin her residency here at home! She loves her puppy Sammie and enjoys playing with her outdoors as much as possible. She also likes, cooking, singing, and traveling whenever possible.
