Tucker Anderson, M.D.

Dr. Anderson was born and raised in Franklin, TN. He attended Freed-Hardeman University for undergrad where he met his closest friends, including his lovely fiancée, Sara. A diehard Vol fan, Tucker tries to attend as many football games as he can, and cannot wait to purchase his first set of season tickets (currently broke). When not watching or reading about the Vols, Tucker enjoys Crossfit, golfing, cooking and renovation projects. He is also an active member at Great Oaks Church of Christ in Lakeland. He is very excited to continue his career in Memphis and especially with the excellent team at Le Bonheur! Go Vols!

Josh Bakke, M.D.

Dr. Bakke grew up in Nashville, TN, the oldest of three kids. He graduated from Harding University before attending medical school. Career wise, Josh is interested in General Pediatrics with a focus on Global Health. That being said, he loves traveling and he is excited about going to the World Cup this summer of course. He enjoys soccer but also hiking and biking. Josh loves Memphis, the people, the music, the food and he is excited about doing his residency here.

Katie Barnett, M.D.

Dr. Barnett grew up in Mayfield, KY and she completed her undergrad degree in Spanish at Georgetown College. Although she was born and bred to be a UK wildcats fan, she went to the University of Louisville for medical school. She’s spent a lot of time in KY, but anytime she gets the chance she travels-only 2 continents left to complete her dream of traveling to all 7. She loves photography and crafting, but her favorite thing to do is spending time with her husband, Eric, and their precious pups, Rosie and Walter.

Karis Browder, M.D.

Born in the Midwest but raised in Birmingham, Alabama, Dr. Browder is a true southern girl. She attended the University of Alabama for her undergraduate degree. She misses cheering for the Crimson Tide on game days. Although she stays fairly active with jogging, swimming and weight training, she is a certified TV junkie. Karis also enjoys reading novels, cooking and watching live music performances. Karis has two siblings, who keep her spirits high. God and her family are the most important sources of her motivation, happiness and success. She is excited about making a new home and extended family in Memphis.

Sherie Byrd, M.D.

A Collierville, TN native, Dr. Byrd attended Vanderbilt University obtaining a degree in Psychology and Medicine, Health and Science. During medical school, she took a life-changing medical mission trip to El Salvador, where she assisted in providing care to underserved populations. She would love to do more mission trips in the future. Sherie is thrilled to stay in her hometown for training because she loves the southern hospitality. In her spare time, she enjoys cheering on the Grizzlies, watching movies, and traveling to beautiful beaches.

Paola Castri, M.D. Ph.D.

Dr. Castri was born and raised in Italy and attended Medical School at the University of Rome. Following medical school she completed her doctorate in Neuroscience at the US National Institutes of Health, just outside of Washington, D.C. While there she discovered that the best pizza made on earth actually comes from America! She loves spending time with her family, running, baking bread and making pasta. She hopes to become a compassionate, effective and investigational Pediatric Neurologist.

Belinda Collins, D.O.

In rural Vermont, Dr. Collins grew up working in her mother’s family dental practice. After completing her undergrad at the University of Vermont, she spent two years as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in Africa. There she co-founded The M.O.S.A. Project, it provides educational scholarships, food and healthcare to children and families affected by HIV/AIDS. While in Med school she also pursued her MPH. In her free time, she enjoys painting, learning new languages, and going on adventures with her mother, father, and little sister Phoebe.

Soham Dave, D.O.

Dr. Dave grew up in Maryland with his parents and older brother. During college he earned a Master’s Degree in South Asia Studies and a Bachelors degree in Biopsychology. After college, he taught high school science and worked in the U.S. House of Representatives. A budding sitar player, he enjoys listening to the performance of Indian Classical Music. He also enjoys exploring the great outdoors while hiking, long distance running, and biking.

Amanda Gammel, D.O.

Dr. Gammel was born and raised in Murfreesboro, TN and went to Middle Tennessee State University for undergrad. She graduated with a BS in Chemistry and moved to Blacksburg, VA for medical school. Amanda enjoys spending time with her husband, friends, and family, as well as trying new foods/restaurants and traveling. She is excited to be moving back to TN!

Courtney Gushue, D.O.

Dr. Gushue grew up in the suburbs of Philly and attended Penn State for undergrad, along with her 4 older sisters. After studying abroad, Courtney caught the travel bug and moved to Denver for medical school, and still itches to travel every chance she gets. In addition to traveling, Courtney loves to hike, run, try new foods, spend time with family and go to the beach!

Katie Harris, M.D.

Dr. Harris is a born and raised Carolina girl! She grew up in Greenville, SC and went to college and medical school at the University of South Carolina. (Go gamecocks!) Katie met her wonderful husband, Jordan, while working at a summer camp in Texas. They married in 2012. Jordan is a recent seminary graduate and they are both excited about finding ministry opportunities and a church family in Memphis! In their spare time, they love going to the mountains, finding new coffee shops, reading, cooking, riding bikes, and playing music together.

Emily Hayes, M.D.

Dr. Hayes was born and raised in Louisville, KY. She attended the University of Kentucky majoring in Biology. Emily returned home for medical school and met her husband, Pete, who is starting a dermatology residency in Memphis. In their free time, they enjoy cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats, playing with their chocolate Labrador retriever, Lily, trying new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends.

Sarah Heston, M.D.

Dr. Heston grew up in Bartlett, TN just outside of Memphis. She attended Davidson College in North Carolina, and graduated with a B.S. in Psychology. She completed her post-bacc, pre-med courses at LSU in sunny Baton Rouge, before returning to Memphis for medical school. Sarah met her biochemist husband, Josh, while working as a lab-tech at St. Jude. They live in Midtown with their dogs “Wembley” and “kitten.” Sarah enjoys cooking, baking and gardening in their tiny backyard.

Jonathan Jerkins, M.D.

Dr. Jerkins was born in Memphis, TN. He graduated with a degree in Business Management from Harding University and spend four years working at a brokerage firm in Memphis. Jonathan decided that wearing a coat and tie to work wasn’t the life for him, so he entered medical school in order to pursue a career where he would wear a different coat but no tie. He has a lovely wife and two devastatingly cute little girls. He loves the city of Memphis because of its musical influences, its pride, and its grit.

Marissa Just, M.D.

Dr. Just grew up in Smithtown, NY with two older siblings. She attended Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania majoring in Industrial Engineering. After graduating she worked for a construction consulting firm prior to entering medical school. Marissa is excited to leave behind the cold, snowy Buffalo winters and looks forward to exploring with her dog Huckleberry Fin in tow. Logan

Logan Key, M.D.

Dr. Key is originally from Arkansas (Go Hogs!) but considers herself a Native Nashvillian after moving there at the age of 11. She is excited to experience West Tennessee after completing medical school at ETSU in Johnson City, TN. In her spare time, Logan loves traveling and experiencing new places and cultures. She is an avid football fan. Her fall Saturdays and Sundays are really always monopolized by some game. Logan is excited to explore Memphis and to finally be a pediatrician at Le Bonheur!

Grace Nelson, M.D.

Dr. Nelson grew up in Northern California and went to college in coastal Central California. After Chicago for medical school, Memphis is a welcome move to her warmer roots. Besides riding horses in her off-time, Grace depends on her daily runs and time in the gym. She is known to occasionally plow through several How I Met Your Mother reruns at a time.

Kristen Noble, M.D.

Dr. Noble was born in Cleveland, Ohio. She ventured to Nashville to attend Vanderbilt University. After college, she worked for two years in a neuroscience lab and as a librarian in Cleveland. She started medical school in 2005 and loved medicine and science so much, that she stuck around for 9 years to complete a M.D./Ph.D. at Meharry. Kristen is married to a wonderfully supportive man, Roosevelt, and they have a beautiful young daughter, Jordan. Kristen and her family are excited about Memphis and can’t wait to eat some good food! In her spare time, Kristen enjoys knitting, quilting, baking and running.

Kaley Norris, D.O.

Dr. Norris grew up in Indianapolis, IN. Before med school, She went to Miami University in Ohio for her undergrad training. Kaley did gymnastics for 18 years and taught it to kids 2 to 8 years old. Working with kids brings the best out of Kaley and ensures that she never has to grow up! She still enjoys walking on her hands at random times in random places, but also runs, bikes, and loves outdoors. She and her pet plants are pumped for Memphis!

Dustin Parker, D.O.

Dr. Parker was born and raised in Northwest Tennessee. He attained a biology degree at University of Tennessee at Martin. After graduation, he moved east to Harrogate, TN to attend medical school. He is excited to move back closer to home to be near family and friends. Dustin’s interests include hunting and other outdoor activities such as playing sports and running.

Sonal Patel, M.D.

Dr. Patel was born in a Chicago suburb and raised in Troy, IL outside St. Louis. She went to New York University in NYC majoring in Chemistry with a minor in American Sign Language and math. She moved back to the Midwest for medical school where the rent is much cheaper. Sonal loves food, traveling, canned soda, video games, true crime documentaries and novels, crossword puzzles, basketball, spending time with friends, and sleeping. She loves babies and toddlers and she is excited to start her residency.

Melissa Perrino, M.D.

Dr. Perrino comes from a little further north in Ohio. She loves to eat, run and play any and all games. Melissa is a huge sports fan (Go Buckeyes!) She loves to travel and try new things and can’t wait to explore Memphis!

 

Ashley Rawson, M.D.

Dr. Rawson is from a small town in Central Louisiana where she grew up on crawfish and gumbo. She moved to Shreveport for college and medical school and majored in Biochemistry at Centenary College. There, she played flag foot-ball and adopted her dog, Electron aka “Ellie”. Ashley spends most of her time reading and watching movies with friends. Memphis seems like a wonderful city and she cannot wait to learn about the culture and Le Bonheur!

Neil Tailor, M.D.

Dr. Tailor grew up in Greenwood, SC and went to Clemson University where he studied Mathematical sciences with a Biology concen-tration. He loves being in the south and looks forward to beginning the next stage of his life in Memphis, TN. In his free time, he loves to play tennis, golf, bike and play the piano. He also enjoys traveling, astronomy and watching football. Go Tigers!

Michael Womack, M.D.

Dr. Womack was born and raised in Houma, Louisiana, the heart of Cajun country. He attended LSU in Baton Rouge receiving a bachelor’s in Biological Sciences, minoring in Chemistry and Communication Studies. He then moved to New Orleans where he earned his medical degree. Although south Louisiana will always be home, he and his new bride are thrilled to live and work in the Home of the Blues. Michael spends his free time outdoors chasing Frisbees and hiking, reading bios, as well as learning and experiencing as much as he can about other cultures and people.
