Arun Saini, MBBS, MD, FAAP

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics

Dr. Saini attended medical school and received post-graduate training from the University of Delhi in India.  He then served as a pediatrician for 2 ½ years at one of the largest and busiest pediatric hospitals in Delhi.  Dr. Saini moved to the United States in 2007 for his pediatric residency training at Children’s Hospital of Michigan. He completed his pediatric critical care fellowship training at Washington University School of Medicine in Saint Louis in July 2014 and joined the critical care faculty at UTHSC and LeBonheur Children’s Hospital in November.

Dr Saini’s research interest is in hemostasis in critically ill children with a focus on anticoagulation management on extracorporeal circuits, utility of functional coagulation assays like thromboelastography and platelet aggregometry, and optimizing blood products transfusion practice.

  • 2004: Dr Satya Gupta Award for the best original research work in Preventive and Social Pediatrics
