Residency

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine offers an ACGME accredited combined training program in Anatomic Pathology (AP) and Clinical Pathology/Laboratory Medicine (CP). Learn more about our residency program

Fellowships

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine currently offers 4 fellowship programs. Three lead to ABMS specialty certification, and one is a new advanced training program in anatomic pathology with a focus in urologic pathology. Learn more about our fellowship program.   

College of Medicine

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine provides essential didactic teaching to students in the COM through the Department of Medical Education.

Medical students interested in pathology may be interested in arranging a rotational experience in the department or in joining the Pathology Interest Group.  Medical students may be interested in Research Scholar programs with our Experimental Pathology faculty.

College of Graduate Health Sciences

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine offers graduate and postdoctoral research experience primarily through the Experimental Pathology Division in the Center for Cancer Research.  Prospective graduate students should apply through the College of Graduate Health Sciences

Other Colleges

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine also provides didactic training to students in other UTHSC Colleges including Dentistry and Health Professions, and a number of our faculty hold joint appointments in these colleges.
