Pathology and Laboratory Medicine faculty represent a broad range of professional interests. Anatomic Pathology (AP) and Clinical Pathology (CP) boarded generalists and specialists in both anatomic and clinical pathology subdisciplines are available to provide an extensive array of clinical services and consultations. Areas of special expertise in AP include urologic pathology, cytopathology, dermatopathology, gastrointestinal pathology, hematopathology, neuropathology, pediatric pathology, and forensic pathology. Areas of special expertise in CP include hematology and coagulation, medical microbiology, molecular pathology, and transfusion medicine.

Pathology and Laboratory Medicine faculty provide professional services in more than 10 affiliated institutions. The affiliated institutions include hospital based practices, independent laboratories, and public health facilities. Pathologists sign out cases in these affiliated institutions, and many pathologists and laboratory scientists have medical, technical, and administrative clinical laboratory responsibilities. In addition, pathology and laboratory medicine professionals serve key roles on medical staff and patient care committees.
