Daniel Wakefield, MD

Dr. Wakefield is originally from Columbia, Tennessee. He completed his undergraduate studies in Biology at Lipscomb University in Nashville before completing his medical doctorate at the UTHSC College of Medicine here in Memphis. He has a passion for the mission of UTHSC and West Cancer Center and focuses his research efforts on cancer disparities in the Mid-South and across the globe. In his spare time he enjoys cooking, fly fishing, hiking, cycling, cheering on the University of Tennessee Volunteers, and spending time with his wife, Amber.

Yuefeng Wang, MD

Dr. Wang was born in China and obtained a PhD on Bio-Physics. Then he moved to Memphis and joined St. Jude for post-doctral research. He has made several significant discoveries in cancer biology, which resulted in publications on top-tier journals including Cell and Nature Chemical Biology. While he was at St. Jude, Dr. Wang was inspired by the advancement of cancer treatment to pursue a career in clinical medicine. He went back school and attended the medical school at University of Tennessee (UT). Afterwards, he finished his internship at UT and his first year of Radiation Oncology residency training at an out of state program. Dr, Wang was thrilled to be able to transfer back UT and continue his residency training close to family. 

Dr.  Wang is married and enjoys spending time with family and two kids. He also enjoys fishing, playing table-tennis, running, photography and travelling.
