Office 365 for Education: The New Microsoft Office for UTHSC

What is Office365 for Education?

ITS is happy to announce the availability of Microsoft Office 365 Pro Plus for UTHSC faculty, staff and students. Because of UTHSC's enterprise agreement with Microsoft, UTHSC affiliates can download and install Microsoft Office ProPlus desktop applications at no cost on their personal equipment.

Do not install this on university owned computers. You'll use your licenses unnecessarily. For university owned machines, please acquire desktop Office applications here:

Sign in to Microsoft Online Services

From your personal computer, Log in with your UTHSC email address (NetID@uthsc.edu) and password. Note: If your credentials are not recognized, you will need to change your NetID password and retry after 10 minutes.

Who is eligible?

All UTHSC students, faculty and staff. Only appropriate for use on your personal equipment. Don't install these versions of Office on university owned equipment.

What applications are included?

UTHSC affiliates can download Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus applications on up to 5 devices (PC, Mac, and/or mobile device).

Note: Lync will be in the package download but is not supported by UTHSC.

Office 365 ProPlus includes:

    • A digital download of Office 365 ProPlus to install on up to 5 devices
    • The latest releases from Microsoft (currently Office Professional Plus 2013)
    • Office Mobile access for iOS and Android devices
    • Ability to create and store Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, OneNote, and Publisher files locally on your machine

Note: Mobile applications are downloaded and installed through their respective app stores.

What will happen when I leave UTHSC?

Once you have left the University, your Microsoft Office ProPlus subscription will end. You will have the opportunity at that time to enroll in other available consumer or commercial offers.
