September 1, 2012: DNP Nurse Anesthesia applications (CRNA entry) are currently being accepted for Summer 2013 admission. Please click here for application instructions.
January 15, 2013: MSN Clinical Nurse Leader applications will be accepted for Summer 2013 admission beginning May 1, 2012.
January 15, 2013: DNP (except CRNA entry) applications will be accepted for Fall 2013 admission beginning May 1, 2012.
February 1, 2013: PhD applications will be accepted for Fall 2013 admission beginning May 1, 2012.
Programs of Study
Programs of study are offered at the graduate level. The academic year includes an 8-week Summer term and two 20-week terms in the Fall and Spring. The start date of classes and terms per year are determined by the individual program and clinical option

Master of Science - Nursing (MSN) Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL)

The Master's Entry Second Degree option prepares non-nurses for initial licensure as registered nurses and certification as a Clinical Nurse Leader.

The Post-BSN option prepares licensed RN’s with a BSN degree for certification as a Clinical Nurse Leader.

The RN-MSN option prepares licensed RN's with a ADN degree or diploma for certification as a Clinical Nurse Leader.

Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)

The DNP program prepares BSN and CNL graduates for entry into advance practice. The DNP program also prepares MSN graduates for leadership roles in specialized areas of advanced practice.

The PhD prepares nurse scientists for successful research careers in academia, government, and the healthcare industry.

Doctor of Nursing Practice/Doctor of Philosophy (DNP/PhD)

The DNP/PhD provides highly motivated and qualified students with an integrated advanced clinical and research program of study.

The UTHSC College of Nursing is a member of the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) Electronic Campus for distance education courses, programs and services offered through many institutions of higher education in the southeastern United States.
