Dr. Jami Adrianne Smith is an assistant professor in the UTHSC College of Nursing. She joined the faculty in June 2012. Her teaching responsibilities include providing both clinical and didactic instruction within the Clinical Nurse Leader program. Areas of teaching focus include: Acute Care, Leadership, and Adult Health.

Dr. Smith received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson, Mississippi, in 2002, a Masters of Science in Nursing degree focusing on Nursing Education from Regis University, Denver Colorado, in 2006, and a Doctor of Health Education degree from A. T. Still University, Kirksville Missouri, in 2009. Her 10 years of experience within the nursing profession includes a background in the areas of critical care and dialysis nursing. Her research interests include: competency of nurses, healthcare disparities, and renal disease.

Dr. Smith is a proud member of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society, American Nurses Association, Tennessee Nurses Association, and the American Nephrology Nurses Association.
