Dr. Diane Todd Pace has an extensive history of contributions to the nursing profession. She holds Bachelor’s degrees in Health Care Administration and Nursing, Master’s degrees in Education and Nursing and additional nurse practitioner certifications. She earned a diploma in nursing in 1971 from the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Memphis, and completed the PhD in nursing from UTHSC in 1998.
Certified through ANCC as a Family Nurse Practitioner, Dr. Pace maintains an active clinical practice in the community and focuses her practice on women’s health at midlife and beyond. Additionally, she has been involved in healthcare informatics, serving as the project manager for the development and implementation of electronic health records for two organizations, and serving on several state committees related to e-prescribing and other e-Health initiatives as well as the Operations Committee for the Midsouth eHealth Alliance and the Board of Directors for HIP-TN.
Dr. Pace was inducted in 2007 as a Fellow in the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She is a member of the American Nurses Association and the Tennessee Nurses Association, and has been honored by TNA for her outstanding efforts in clinical practice, patient advocacy, and professional/political leadership locally, within the state, and both nationally and internationally. She has served as Chair of the APN Council for TNA, President for the Greater Memphis Area Advanced Practice Nurses, member of the American Nurses Association International Bank of Experts on Women's Health, and the ANA Congress for Nursing Practice Committee on Information Infrastructure.
Dr. Pace is a Certified Menopause Practitioner (1991) through the North American Menopause Society (NAMS). She has served on the Scientific, Consumer and Professional Education Committees, as a reviewer for position papers on Hormone Therapy, and collaborated on the development of the menopause curriculum for APGO. She was elected to the Board of Directors for the international organization, has served as Treasurer and President-Elect and will serve as President for the organization 2012-2013.
She holds additional certification as a clinical densitometrist through the International Society of Clinical Densitometry (ISCD), certification as Health Information Technology Clinician (HIT-Pro), and is a member of the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health. Dr. Pace has been honored by both Dallas, Texas and Memphis, TN as a Great 100 Nurse recipient and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, nursing honor society.
