Dr. Jordan is a graduate of University of Tennessee Health Science Center (BSN, 1998, MSN, 1999 & DNP, 2010) and has been a College of Nursing faculty member since 2006. She is dually certified as a family and psychiatric nurse practitioner. Dr. Jordan is currently an Assistant Professor and the FNP Option Coordinator and serves a faculty member in the Family Psychiatric/Mental Nurse Practitioner Option.

Dr. Jordan has practiced as a Family Nurse Practitioner since 1998 in a variety of primary care and community mental health clinics. In addition to her expertise in family practice, Dr. Jordan is actively developing an integrated model of health care delivery for persons with mental health disorders in the primary care setting.

She is an active member of Sigma Theta Tau, American Nurses Association, Tennessee Nurses Association, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculty. She currently serves as the Tennessee State Representative for the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Her current scholarship accomplishments included author of a textbook chapter on Schizophrenia and numerous presentations at local and national meetings.

In 2003, Dr. Jordan was awarded a Practice Incentive Grant by the Tennessee Department of Health for Fayette County and has served on the Regional Health Council for West Tennessee. Dr. Jordan serves as a faculty senator for the Health Science Center in addition to serving on numerous committees in the College of Nursing. She is a current member of the UTHSC, Memphis CON Alumni Board and is also a past-president of the Board. In 2012 Dr. Jordan was recognized for her contributions and commitment to the nurse practitioner profession by The American Academy of Nurses Practitioners and inducted as Fellow in the Academy.
