Cheryl Scott joined the UTHSC faculty in January 2012 as the coordinator of the Nursing Skills Lab. She has over 30 years of experience as a registered nurse. She has experience in Nursing Education, Nursing Administration, Pediatrics, Oncology and as a Training Center Coordinator for the American Heart Association. She has been trained in simulation and has experience with multidisciplinary healthcare providers utilizing simulation to certify in life support courses and fundamentals of critical care support. She has been a nurse educator serving as faculty at the Baptist School of Nursing where she taught adult nursing courses. She is also Regional Faculty for BLS, ACLS and PALS through the AHA. Her teaching responsibilities at UTHSC include Acute Skills I, II, and III, assisting students through skill development and simulation.
Originally from Akron, Ohio, Cheryl received her BSN from the University of Akron and her MPA from the University of Memphis with a concentration on Health Services Administration. She is an active member of the AHA and the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning.
