Prerequisites

Master's Entry 2nd Degree Clinical Nurse Leader

This track is a full-time 2-year program taught primarily face-to-face for individuals who hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in a non-nursing field from a regionally accredited college or university (or approved international equivalent) seeking professional entry to nursing practice and RN licensure. Prerequisite courses for this program are shown in the Prerequisite Courses Table.  (Note: The prerequisite requirements show that individuals may not enter the CNL program directly from high school.)

***All prerequisite courses must be completed prior to beginning studies at the UT Health Science Center (UTHSC), but do not need to be completed prior to application.***

(1) Numbers in table represent “semester hours” from regionally accredited colleges and universities completed with a grade of C or higher. The prerequisite courses in this table are not offered by the UTHSC, College of Nursing.

(2) The Science prerequisite courses must be completed within 10 years of the application deadline date.

(3) The 14-semester-hour prerequisite requirement represents non-nursing, collegiate academic studies. The 14-semester hours must be completed during or in addition to your undergraduate collegiate studies.

 

Post - BSN

This track is for individuals who hold a BSN degree and RN license and who seek Clinical Nurse Leader certification. The program has both full-time (1-year) and part-time (2-year) options. Classes are taught face-to-face and on-line.
