Memphis, Tenn. (October 14, 2010) – As of today, James W. Paul J. Dr. Morris has been a remarkable ambassador for the UT Health Science Center during his tenure as president of the College of Medicine Alumni Council, “said Keith Carver, PhD, interim vice chancellor for Development and Alumni Affairs at UTHSC.  We look forward to continuing this tradition of leadership with Dr. Huffstutter, who has served as a key volunteer leader for the College of Medicine for many years.”

The president of the UT College of Medicine Alumni Council serves a two-year term and is elected by the 60 members of the Alumni Council.  Responsibilities of the volunteer position include: working with the UT College of Medicine Alumni Council to present timely continuing medical education programs; developing informative alumni workshops and events; and collaborating with the UT Office of Development and Alumni Affairs on the annual alumni awards luncheon.  Since its founding in 1911, more than 13,000 men and women have earned their medical degrees at UTHSC.  On average about 300 alumni participate each year in the UT College of Medicine Alumni Weekend.
