Memphis, Tenn. (May 15, 2008) – Veronica
T. Mallett, MD, chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN)
for the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC), has announced
the appointment of Edward Stanford, MD,
MS, FACOG, FACS, as Division Head of Gynecologic Services and Female Pelvic
Medicine in OB/GYN. Dr. Stanford will also supervise Reconstructive
Pelvic Surgery (Urogynecology) and serve as chief of Ambulatory Services within
OB/GYN.
A respected clinical innovator whose expertise is
recognized across the country, Dr. Stanford, has contributed nationally and
internationally to the field of female pelvic medicine as well as
reconstructive pelvic surgery. He received his medical degree from the
Medical College of Pennsylvania and has completed two independent fellowships
with the
