Memphis, Tenn. (April 16, 2007) – Brent Reed, a second-year
student at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) College of
Pharmacy, has been chosen national president-elect of the Academy of Student
Pharmacists (ASP), the student branch of the American Pharmacists Association (APhA). The son of
Calvin and Patty Reed of
Brent is a native of
Dr. Dick R. Gourley, dean of the UTHSC College of
Pharmacy, said, “All of us associated with the College of Pharmacy and the
profession of pharmacy across Tennessee are extremely proud of Brent and his
election as president-elect of APhA-ASP. During his term as president, he will be the
leader of every pharmacy student in our nation, which is
both an honor and a responsibility. We
are confident that Brent is up to the task. He is a bright and involved young
man, and we are proud that he is one of our students. We are also very proud of his fellow UT
pharmacy students and their role in helping achieve Brent’s election.”
