UTHSC COLLEGE OF NURSING HONOR SOCIETY EXPANDS

 

            Memphis, Tennessee (April 17, 2006) – Beta Theta Chapter-at–Large of Sigma Theta Tau International, Honor Society of Nursing will officially grow at 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, at a rechartering and new member induction ceremony at the Holiday Inn, University of Memphis campus.  Baptist College of Health Sciences Division of Nursing will be joining the chapter that already includes the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) College of Nursing and the University of Memphis Loewenberg School of Nursing.

            Veronica Engle, PhD, RN, FAAN, professor of nursing at UTHSC and current Beta Theta Chapter-at-Large president, said, “The rechartering is the culmination of many years of hard work to bring together three strong and diverse nursing programs -- the Baptist College of Health Sciences, the University of Memphis, and the University of Tennessee Health Science Center -- to provide leadership and scholarship in nursing practice, education, and research to enhance the health of all people. Our organization is a model for professional collaboration, cooperation and collegiality.”
