Instructions for Applicants

ERAS/AAMC Match Service logo

Neurology resident applicants should apply through the ERAS/AAMC Match Service. You can find the relevant information on the ERAS® (Electronic Residency Application Service) for Applicants external link webpage.

A complete application consists of:

  • Current Photograph (required)
  • Personal Statement
  • Medical School Transcript
  • USMLE or COMLEX Scores
  • Three Letters of Recommendation
  • Clinical experience

All ERAS applications are reviewed and invitations are extended to those selected via e-mail.

Candidate Requirements

  1. Candidates must have passed the USMLE Step 1, Step 2 (CK) and Step 2 (CS) on the first attempt. You may submit your application without your Step 2 (CS) score, however you must have your score and valid ECFMG certificate by January 30. We highly prefer scores of 230 or above. Lower scores are accepted depending upon the overall qualifications of the candidate.
  2. Graduation from Medical School should be within the last three (3) years. If not, you must have worked as a physician in a clinical setting for at least 2 years in the last 5 years.
  3. Candidates with multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals are strongly considered.
  4. Candidates with US clinical experience are preferred.

All residents will be required to pass a criminal background check before they are allowed to start work at the University.

Visas

We offer J1 Visa only. Please do not submit an application to our program if you require an H Visa.

Observerships and Externships

The Neurology Program does not offer observerships or externships.

Post-match positions are usually not available.
