Methodist University Hospital (MUH) is a 617-bed facility and the principal adult private teaching hospital for UT Health Science Center. Methodist University Hospital provides real-world experiences in managing medical problems in an efficient and effective institution. MUH is home to a large solid organ transplant program specializing in liver, kidney, and pancreas transplantations.

MUH and the UT Health Science Center combine research, medicine, and innovation. This partnership supports multidisciplinary collaboration among doctors and clinical team members, leading to more advanced patient medical care.

Nationally recognized for its success with kidney, liver, kidney-pancreas and pancreas transplants, Methodist University Hospital Transplant Institute has been a leader in the field for more than 30 years. The program offers hope to patients with conditions such as kidney failure, end-stage liver diseases such as cirrhosis, Hepatitis C and diabetes.

Partnering with the University of Tennessee, the program is dedicated to improving the quality of life and the life expectancy for its organ transplant patients through research breakthroughs, excellence in surgical techniques and meticulous post-operative care.

Nephrology trainees rotate through the out-patient Satellite Healthcare dialysis facilities to gain experience in long term care of patients receiving renal replacement therapy. Satellite Healthcare is among the nation's leading not-for-profit providers of kidney dialysis and related services, with a strong interest in home dialysis.

Regional One Health (ROH) was established in 1829, making it the oldest health system in Tennessee. ROH is the only level-1 trauma center in the region, has the region's only accredited burn center, and also serves as the public safety-net hospital for the Memphis area. Unique services offered by Regional One include the trauma services and the burn ICU, in addition to caring for the region's underserved population.

ROH is one of the largest medical and surgical teaching site for the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. The partnership between Regional One Health and the University of Tennessee Health Science Center includes the UT Regional One Physicians group.

Founded in 1922, the Memphis VA Medical Center (VAMC) is affiliated with the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and is one of our primary adult teaching hospitals. It offers quality healthcare for the changing medical, surgical, and quality of life needs of the Mid-South men and women who so proudly served our nation.

For the 196,000 veterans from 53 counties in western Tennessee, northern Mississippi, and northwest Arkansas, the VAMC offers a variety of services for both physical and mental health needs. New programs include those for traumatic brain injuries, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and suicide prevention.

The University Vascular Access Center extrnal is a freestanding interventional outpatient center. Physicians are specialists in dialysis access management and innovators in the field of minimally invasive therapies for a number of medical conditions. They are committed to improving quality of life for our patients with high quality healthcare that is readily accessible, utilizes the latest technology, reduces avoidable hospitalizations, and meets the needs of the communities we serve. Nephrology trainees participate in elective rotation through the access center.
