We appreciate your interest in our Nephrology Fellowship Program. We have developed a strong program in Nephrology that was initiated in July 1962. Since then we have trained more than 50 fellows and we are very proud since all of them have passed their Nephrology Boards. We accept two fellows each year and we have an optional third year of training in Transplant Nephrology.
Our main interest and emphasis is in Clinical Nephrology and we have access to three Hospitals that provide us with a variety of clinical cases. We treat an important number of patients with ARF. We also have two Renal Clinics, where we follow more than 200 Pre-ESRD patients. In those clinics, the fellows have the opportunity of having a longitudinal follow-up of patients, during the two years of training. We have two out-patient dialysis units with 200 patients. Our transplant program is very active. They usually transplant around 120 kidneys, 120 livers, and 10 pancreas each year.
