The mechanism of action and function of Osteocalcin, a vitamin K-dependent bone hormone that regulates energy metabolism; how Osteocalcin interacts with the G-protein coupled receptor GPRC6A to activate signal transduction pathways in beta cells of the pancreas, liver cells, muscle and fat cells. The mechanism of action of Matrix Gla Protein, a vitamin K-dependent protein that inhibits calcification, and regulates cell-matrix interactions; its role in cancer, injury repair,and calcification. The development, implementation and peer-reviewed publication of team-based and clinical basic science correlates related to teaching of medical students.Personal Interests: Fishing, camping, movies, reading.
