Description: The University of Tennessee Health Science Center, College of Dentistry seeks applicants for the position of Chair, Department of Prosthodontics. This is a full-time, tenure track, faculty position. Salary and academic rank are commensurate with the candidate?s qualifications and experience. Primary responsibilities of this position include: (1) manage a diverse faculty, staff and student body; (2) department administration; (3) faculty and staff development; (4) develop and manage preclinical and clinical prosthodontic educational programs; and (5) facilitate department research and service activities. The Department is composed of four divisions: Fixed, Removal, Implant, and Graduate Prosthodontics. The Department is also involved in interprofessional (IPE) education collaboration. This position reports to the Dean of the College of Dentistry.

The successful candidate must have a DDS/DMD from an ADA accredited dental program or equivalent degree and be eligible for licensure in the State of Tennessee. Applicants trained at an accredited postgraduate program in Prosthodontics and those that possess an associated M.S. or Ph.D. degree are preferred. Certification from the American Board of Prosthodontics is also preferred. The successful candidate should have a work history of involvement in teaching, service, and scholarly activity. Excellent interpersonal skills and prior administrative experience in health science education will be favorably considered.
