Description: The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC), Department of Occupational Therapy invites applicants to apply for a tenure track, full-time 12-month Assistant Professor faculty position to contribute to UTHSC?s research, teaching and service missions. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Primary teaching responsibilities include area(s) of mental health, healthcare management, and physical dysfunction, advising students, conducting original research, mentoring student research, performing university and community service, overseeing the admissions process, and engaging in curriculum development and evaluation.

Required qualifications:
1. An earned Degree in Occupational Therapy (MOT or OTD)
2. Earned terminal Ph.D. degree from an accredited institution (PhD, EdD, etc.)
3. Credentialed by NBCOT and licensed Occupational Therapist and eligible for OT licensure in the state of Tennessee
4. A minimum of 3 years of occupational therapy clinical experience in the course content area of mental health
5. At least 3 years of full-time teaching experience in a post-baccalaureate or graduate program with ACOTE accreditation
6. Demonstrated record of peer-reviewed publications
7. Administrative experience including, but not limited to, admissions process, and curriculum development and evaluation

Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the applicant having outstanding promise for teaching excellence, preference will be given to applicants that can demonstrate a promising or distinguished record of scholarly accomplishments related to peer-reviewed publications and the pursuit or extramural funding. An interest to participate in clinical practice is also preferred.
