Description: The UT HEALTH SCIENCE CENTER (UTHSC) College of Nursing invites applications for the position of a full-time non-tenure track position as Midwifery faculty/DNP Program Concentration Coordinator in the Acute & Tertiary Care Department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administrative responsibilities include conducting a needs assessment for a Midwifery Program and developing a program pro forma. Develop the curriculum in line with the current DNP program offerings that meet accreditations standards. As Concentration Coordinator, will be responsible for concentration specific recruitment and admission of students, curriculum overview, monitoring program and specialty standards, coordinating clinical experiences, and monitoring clinical contracts/ placements. Teaching both didactic course work and clinical supervision of students. The UTHSC embraces four missions: education, research, clinical care and institutional service. Responsibilities for this role include clinical practice assignment, in addition to educational responsibilities. Research/scholarship activities and institutional service responsibilities will be determined in collaboration with Department Chair.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Unencumbered licensure as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse in Tennessee or eligibility to obtain licensure in Tennessee required, as well as certification/recertification as a Nurse Midwife. Earned doctoral degree from an accredited university required. Substantive expertise as a nurse midwife is required. Documented high quality didactic teaching experience in women?s health content (basic and applied) and related fields of clinical work. Expertise in clinical teaching and active engagement in appropriate professional organizations is required. Evidence of scholarship including research and/or grants is highly desirable. Academic rank is commensurate with degree and academic experience.
