Description: The University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Department of Surgery is seeking an Acute Care Surgeon to join the Surgical Critical Care Division. The successful applicant will be academically oriented and excited to join the faculty of one of the busiest trauma centers in the country.

Candidates must be BE/BC in surgical Critical Care and will be appointed at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, as is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Clinical and basic science research opportunities are available, and applicants must demonstrate a commitment to teaching and academics.

The individual hired will join 10 surgeons at the Elvis Presley Trauma Center (EPTC). The EPTC is the only Level One Center in the Mid-South. Operative trauma cases remain high, with a large volume and a high penetrating index. The group also covers all emergency general surgery as well as staffs a resident teaching clinic.
