Description: The Department of Preventive Medicine, Division of Biostatistics, at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, seeks applicants for a full-time, open rank (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) tenure-track faculty position in Biostatistics.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop a diverse research portfolio with a mixture of collaborative and independent methodological research. We are especially interested in candidates with a demonstrated interest in large observational studies, clinical trials, complex heterogeneous datasets, high-throughput data, and statistical computing.

Minimum qualifications: Ph.D. in Statistics or Biostatistics or related area. Candidates with clinical and public health research experience are especially encouraged to apply. Primary criteria for appointment will be experience, demonstrated ability in research, a relevant publication record in peer-reviewed journals, and evidence of successful teaching.

Applicants for Associate Professor should demonstrate evidence of sustained productivity and ability to contribute to extramurally funded research teams. Applicants for Full Professor should fulfil the requirements of Associate Professor and show evidence of leadership and national recognition.

Responsibilities for this position include: Methodological research that results in peer-reviewed publications; Collaborative research including assistance with grant applications, and data analysis on funded grants; Teaching of 1 -2 graduate courses per year and supervision of graduate students; and Internal consulting in our biostatistics, epidemiology and research design (BERD) unit.
