Description: The UT College of Medicine Chattanooga and Erlanger Health System are seeking applicants for the newly created position of Associate Dean for Research. Reporting to the Dean of the UT College of Medicine Chattanooga and the Chief Medical Officer of Erlanger Health System, this shared position will be responsible for strategic research program development. This position will provide leadership and vision for expanding research opportunities between both institutions working closely with faculty, residents, and staff.

The Associate Dean for Research will have oversight for all research-related activities between the two institutions including clinical trials, compliance, and the development of a research curriculum for faculty and resident education. Building a strong collaborative partnership with the UT Health Science Center Vice Chancellor for Research is essential, along with strengthening an existing Scientific Review Committee and Institutional Review Board.

Qualifications: It is expected that candidates would hold an MD/PhD, MD, or PhD and possess a strong academic background at the Associate Professor level or higher. A record of funded research is essential, along with proven leadership and communication skills necessary to build and maintain a thriving research enterprise.
