Description: The University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Department of Medicine ? General Internal Medicine, is seeking a highly motivated individual with well-documented expertise in population health and health care delivery research to join a growing and dynamic team of faculty in the College of Medicine who are conducting innovative research devoted to health systems improvement for vulnerable populations. The full-time, non-tenure track position requires strong interest and established research track record in one or more of the following focus areas: Health Services Research, Health Care Delivery Innovations (e.g. Patient-Centered Medical Homes (PCMH), Care Transitions), Comparative Effectiveness, Health Information Technology, and Improving Care for Chronic Disease. We are particularly interested in candidates with research focus on improving ambulatory health care delivery systems for people with chronic conditions.
Successful candidates will hold an M.D. with an additional M.P.H., Ph.D., or equivalent degrees, demonstrated scientific expertise and track record, an ability to acquire sustained, external, investigator-initiated funding, significant grant writing and program evaluation experience, a commitment to excellence in teaching, and excellent oral and written communication skills. We are especially interested in candidates who will collaborate with other faculty, community organizations, and government agencies to develop and test interventions to improve health systems serving vulnerable populations.
