Description: The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC), Department of Surgery in Memphis, TN is seeking tenure track faculty at the Assistant/Associate Professor rank for the UTHSC/Methodist University Hospital Transplant Research Institute. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and credentials. We recently received a $40 million endowment to initiate the Transplant Research Institute and enhance a new Transplant clinical facility. The candidate should be Board Certified/Eligible in Transplant Hepatology and have experience in an academic setting. This new position will be joining a three (3) member academic hepatology group based at Methodist University Hospital. The Hepatology Practice is supported by Hepatology and Gastroenterology fellows. The Hepatologists share call with GI faculty at UTHSC and are actively involved in GI fellowship training. Candidates should welcome the opportunity to teach medical students and residents and participate in research. Research seed money is an option for the appropriate candidate. Candidates must be able to obtain a Tennessee medical license. The University of Tennessee provides a compensation package which includes a competitive salary, fringe benefits and private practice allowance.
