Description: The University of Tennessee Health Science Center, College of Medicine, Department of Surgery, Division of General Surgery is accepting applications for Head of the Section of Bariatric Surgery position. This is a full-time, non-tenure track position and faculty rank is commensurate with experience and credentials. Candidates must have completed an accredited general residency program, successfully completed an approved Bariatric Surgery fellowship, be Board Eligible/Board Certified and committed to providing quality clinical care, student/resident teaching, and research. The successful candidate will have experience working with all types of surgical weight loss procedures including but not limited to laparoscopic weight loss surgery, gastric bypass, gastric band (lap band), and vertical sleeve gastrectomy, and will work diligently to contribute to the growth of the department. The candidate will develop and provide oversight of a multidisciplinary bariatric surgery program and will contribute to the growth of the Department of Surgery.
