Description: The University of Tennessee Health Science Center, College of Medicine, Department of Surgery in Memphis is seeking a full-time Professor to join the Division of Cardiac Surgery. The position is tenured track. Rank will be commensurate with experience and credentials. Applicants should hold a M.D. degree or equivalent, be board-certified/board-eligible, and be eligible for licensure in Tennessee. The selected candidate should work toward achieving the highest quality in national and professional quality care measures provide advanced cardiovascular training for physicians, nurses, allied health professionals; foster and develop synergistic translational research ; develop throughout the Methodist Healthcare System, an integrated, comprehensive cardiovascular service line that provides innovative services not available in the Memphis area; partner with colleagues at the Pediatric Heart Institute in program development, recruiting, etc. to improve the care of adolescents and young adults and achieve greater efficiencies and synergies in patient care that help reduce re-admissions , length of stay, resource utilization, etc. The successful applicant will practice with exceptional skill at the highest levels of cardiothoracic surgery particularly in the areas of valvular repair, cardiac transplantation, and minimally invasive technologies, etc; and work collaboratively to ensure fiscally-sound operations characterized by high patient satisfaction and efficiency.
