The UTHSC Exchange Server is IMAP compatible; therefore, you can use an IMAP compatible client to read your email. Please be aware that you may lose much of the functionality of Exchange, including calendar and scheduling integration, if you don't use a fully functional exchange client. Outlook 2003 or Entourage 2004 (exchange clients) can be downloaded free of charge. Please note that the web client, Outlook Web Access (OWA) also offers more exchange features than an IMAP client and can be accessed securely online from anywhere at https://exchange.uthsc.edu.
For these reasons, ITS does not recommend using an IMAP client instead of an Exchange client (Outlook, Entourage, or Outlook Web Access).
Customers utilizing an IMAP client or any other non-recommended client must obtain the necessary support from the product vendor and not from ITS. If you choose to use an unsupported IMAP email client, you can configure the following settings to access your Exchange account:
- Incoming mail server*:exchange.uthsc.edu
- Outgoing mail server: smtp.uthsc.edu
*secure connection (SSL) must be enabled
