Job description: The CANDLE Study (Conditions Affecting Neurocognitive Development and Learning
in Early Childhood) is a longitudinal birth cohort study that studies what factors impact cognitive development
in babies 0-3 (see www.candlestudy.org).
The Work Study Research Student for CANDLE will perform the following duties:
- Conduct data collection phone calls to mothers enrolled in the CANDLE Study.
- Conduct phone interviews to collect study data; enter data collected into database used in study.
- Collect nutrition data over the phone on child (what the child eats in a 24 hour period); enter into nutrition database. (will receive specific training for nutrition data collection)
- Update contact information.
- Schedule study appointments and perform appointment reminder calls and/or text messages; will use electronic database searches to locate lost participants.
Hours are available in midafternoon to early evening. This is a great way to gain research experience.

Job description: The TARGIT study (Treating Adults at Risk for weight Gain with Interactive Technology) is a 5-year NIH funded grant to research weight loss and/or weight gain
prevention after smoking cessation in 330 young adults ages 18-35 (see www.targitstudy.org).
The Work Study Research Student for TARGIT will perform the following duties:
· Physical assessments for study participants as needed, including accurate measurement of blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, weight, height and exhaled
carbon monoxide levels. Physical assessment may also include administering urine pregnancy tests to female participants and assisting in the collection of salivary cotinine
· Schedule study appointments and perform appointment reminder calls and text messages; will use electronic database searches to locate lost participants
· Enter subjects measurements and contact information into database
Flexible hours are available including late afternoon / early evening clinic hours. This is a great way to gain research experience.
