October 25 Memphis VisionWalk to Benefit Foundation Fighting Blindness

The Mid-South Chapter of the Foundation Fighting Blindness (FFB) will hold the Memphis VisionWalk at Shelby Farms on Saturday, October 25. Last year’s Memphis VisionWalk raised more than $43,000 in the fight against blinding retinal diseases. Since its inception in spring 2006, VisionWalk has raised over $28 million nationwide to fund sight-saving research. The UT Hamilton Eye Institute team, iWalk4iSight, raised more than $6,400 for last year's walk.

VisionWalk is a signature fundraising event of the Foundation Fighting Blindness, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Over 10 Million Americans are affected by blinding retinal diseases including macular degeneration, retinitis pigmentosa and Usher syndrome. The Foundation Fighting Blindness is working to find treatments and cures for these devastating diseases by funding leading edge research in area such as genetics, gene therapy, transplantation, artificial retinal implants and pharmaceutical and nutritional therapies.
