Dr. Chaum Featured on Radio Eye Health Segment

Dr Chaum

August 1, 2015, Edward Chaum, MD, PhD, Plough Professor of Retinal Diseases and interim director of HEI's Center for Vision Research, was featured in an interview on WYPL-FM 89.3's "Eye On Vision" segment. Dr. Chaum discussed his collaborative research with Oak Ridge National Laboratory concerning a nanoplatform they have developed that re-creates the environment of the retinal pigment epithelium, enabling scientists to more effectively study and understand the cellular changes in the eye that lead to macular degeneration. This research is funded by a grant from the National Eye Institute of the National Institutes of Health, and all research at HEI is supported in part by an unrestricted grant from Research to Prevent Blindness.
