Manage Delegates for Outlook Macintosh

Please Note: Due to inconsistent results from Outlook for ITS does not recommend adding delegate access through Outlook for Mac. If you need to delegate access to your mailbox to another user, please contact the user to request Full Mailbox Rights.

Outlook 2011/2015

  1. In Outlook, navigate to Tools > Accounts > Advanced > Delegates.
  2. Under 'Delegates who can act on my behalf', click on '+' to add a delegate, or '-' to remove a delegate.delegate mac screenshot 1
  3. To add a delegate (not recommended), click the '+' and in the Select User window, start typing the user's email address and click on Find. Choose the mailbox from the list and click OK.
  4. In the new window, you can specify which folders to share with the delegate (Calendar, Tasks, Inbox, Contacts or Notes) and what level of permissions you would like to assign. The three levels of permissions that can be assigned to a delegate are:
    - Reviewer (can read items)
    - Author (can read and create items)

  5. Click OK.
