Dr. Hamilton’s responsibility is to provide professional and administrative oversight to the campus’ animal care program. He is Course Director for CMED 711, CMED712 and CMED713. Relevant training and previous experience: D.V.M., Atlantic Veterinary College, University of Prince Edward Island, Canada, 1992; Postdoctoral training in Pharmacology and Therapeutics, McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, Canada, 1999-2004. University Veterinarian, McGill University 2004-2005. Post-doctoral residency training in Laboratory Animal Medicine, UTHSC, 2005-2008. Joined UTHSC as Assistant Professor in 2007. ACLAM Diplomate since 2009.

Dr. Aycock’s responsibilities are primarily on the South Campus which includes the Coleman and Wittenborg animal facilities. Dr. Aycock is also responsible for the animal import and export services.

Dr. Sullivan is responsible for the animal facilities located in the Cancer Research Building and Translational Sciences Research Building. He continues to help support the surgical and technical services group within LACU. Dr. Sullivan also has oversight and manages the VisualSonics Vevo 2100, a high frequency rodent micro-ultrasound machine, which is available for trainings, collaborations, and fee for service contracts. His personal research interests include alternative heath monitoring methods, preventative medicine, and reptile/amphibian medicine.

Biology, Hampden-Sydney College; D.V.M., Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, St Kitts, 2011; Clinical veterinary training, University of Florida, 2010-2011; Post-doctoral training in Laboratory Animal Medicine, UTHSC, 2011-2014. Served as voting IACUC member, 2013-present. Joined UTHSC as Assistant Professor in September 2014.

Dr. Rehg is actively involved in the pathology aspects of the program and will provide clinical and pathology training at St. Jude. He is responsible for pathology training, including weekly pathology conferences at DCM. Dr. Rehg also lectures in all three courses (CMED711, CMED712 and CMED713) that our department conducts. Dr. Rehg reviews pathology cases from both institutions with the trainees.

Dr. Rehg has 30 years of experience in laboratory animal medicine and science, comparative pathology and biomedical research. He collaborates on NIH funded research projects in the departments of Immunology, Virology and Molecular Biology, Pathology, Pharmacology, and the Cardiopulmonary and Infectious Disease Division of the Child Health Sciences Department.
