Audiology
Purpose
A paid traineeship is available for two Doctor of Audiology students. Audiology trainees spend 10-20 hours per week at the Center assessing children’s hearing abilities and serving on the interdisciplinary evaluation teams.
Objectives
- Selects appropriate screening and diagnostic tests. Accurately matches or adapts procedures to all populations. Administers tests efficiently, interprets results, and makes appropriate recommendations.
- Accurately establishes a treatment plan appropriate for the client and family as part of single discipline and interdisciplinary evaluation team
- Listens, reflects, and explains information using terminology appropriate to the audience. Engages in child/family in problem-solving activities
- Consistently provides clear and meaningful educational information to facilitate the acceptance and treatment of disabilities associated with communication disorders
Description
All trainees are supervised by certified and licensed Audiologists.
Who Can Apply
A limited number of stipends are available for graduate trainees. Applicants for stipends must be citizens of the United States or non-citizens admitted to the United States as permanent residents, with no other means of financial support.
