Sibling Support: SibShops
Sibshops are best described as opportunities for brothers and sisters of children with special health and developmental needs to obtain peer support and education within a recreational context. Sibshops intersperse information and discussion activities with games that are unique and up-beat. The program gives siblings a chance to share, have fun, build friendships and find support. Sibshop reflects the Boling Center's commitment to families by focusing on the well-being of the family member most likely to have the longest lasting relationship with the person with special needs. For more information about this program and/or to sign up your child for a Sibshop event, please read and complete the Sibshop Registration Form below. The project is currently sponsored by the Harwood Center, Inc., Hope Presbyterian Church and the UT Boling Center. Sibshops were developed by Don Meyer, director of the Sibling Support Project and creator of the Sibshop model.

Four Sibshops are scheduled at Hope Presbyterian Church in Cordova on the following Friday evenings:

Just complete the Sibshop Registration Form, which is in PDF format and requires Adobe Reader (a free download). You can fax the Registration Form to 901-448-4734 or mail the Registration Form to the Harwood Center (Attention Eva Nell Taylor), 711 Jefferson Avenue, Memphis, TN 38105. We will email a reminder to you a week before the Sibshop date.
