Curriculum

The SLP curriculum is designed to offer students opportunities to focus their studies in an area of particular interest (e.g., child language disorders, medical speech pathology, aural rehabilitation). A minimum of 79 hours in academic coursework and a minimum of 15 hours in clinical practicum are required for the M.S. Based on coursework taken prior to enrollment, 37 hours of coursework (equivalent to the first full year of the three-year program), may be waived. Descriptions of the coursework listed in the tables below can be found in the UTHSC Catalog on pages 69 - 74.
