Congratulations! The UT Health Science Center College of Medicine Admissions Office is happy to announce the 2014 entering class! To view the entering class roster, you will need your UT NetiD and password.
Classes are scheduled to begin Monday, August 18. You are asked to do the following:
Decide and Respond
Instructions will be included in your offer of acceptance packet sent to you via postal mail. You will have two weeks from the date of your offer to respond via fax, e-mail or postal mail [the form included in your acceptance packet] to acknowledge that you have officially received your acceptance packet. Once this form is received, you will be e-mailed a confirmation within 24-48 hours, from the College of Medicine Admissions Office, to acknowledge receipt. The College of Medicine does not require a guaranteed enrollment deposit. However, May 15 is the deadline to finalize your offer of acceptance according to the Traffic Rules adopted by the American Association Medical College.
Multiple Acceptance Decisions [Based on the schedule below]*
|Prior to April 30||May 15 [AAMC Deadline] no enrollment deposit required|
|May 15-June 15||2 weeks from your offer of acceptance|
|June 16-July 16||1 week from your offer of acceptance|
|After July 17||ASAP|
|*Please note that this information ONLY applies to the College of Medicine.|
These are maximum time limits. In order to be fair to other applicants on the alternate list/waitlist [and you are holding multiple acceptances], please notify each school, as soon as you have made a final decision to allow these positions to be filled in an expedient manner.
Once you have made your final decision to accept our offer, you must fax, e-mail or postal mail the accept offer form [after May 15] to the College of Medicine Admissions Office. Once this form is received you will be e-mailed a confirmation within 24-48 hours from the College of Medicine Admissions Office. To officially withdraw your offer of acceptance you must e-mail, fax or postal mail a written letter requesting to withdraw. If you are not holding multiple acceptances, the final deadline to defer/delay your matriculation or accept our offer is July 1.
NetID and Default Password
In order to finalize your acceptance, the institution requires that ALL students be fully admitted to the University. The UT Health Science Center Office of Student Affairs and Enrollment Services will contact you regarding your NetiD and default password which may take 3-5 business days. Once you receive your NetiD and default password you can log-in to Banner Self-Service to begin the acceptance process. By completing the acceptance process, this will enable you to be awarded financial aid and register for classes prior to matriculation.
You will be asked to authorize a $75.00 charge to your credit card. The $75.00 processing fee is non-refundable and the deadline to register for the Fall Term is August 1. Should you have any questions with regard to this process, please contact their office at 901-448-1035.
Check the New Student Orientation Web site for important dates and information. There you will find details about NSO week, our annual Parents Appreciation Day and the White Coat Ceremony, as well as, the "Getting Ready for Medical School" checklist.
NOTE: Students should not make travel arrangements or other appointments that may conflict with NSO week.
Immunization, Insurance, and Parking
If you are looking for a place to live or just looking for a roommate, the campus-wide housing can assist you with your search. The UT Health Science Center campus does not offer on-campus housing.
If your name has changed after submitting your AMCAS application and you will be completing a name change on academic record form, e-mail our office to let us know you have completed the name change request and wish to have your name changed in the White Coat Ceremony Program.
Keep in touch by visiting the College of Medicine's New Student Orientation Web site for information and/or updates. Please contact the College of Medicine Admissions Office at 901-448-5559, if you should have any questions or concerns.
