The Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) comprises eight units that offer support in different research domains to researchers using the Clinical Research Unit (CRU).

The CRU works closely with the Pediatric Clinical Research Unit. Under the direction of Dr. Michael Christensen, the mission of the CTSI Pediatric Clinical Research Unit, based at Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center and the Children's Foundation Research Center, is to support translation of basic and clinical research findings into more effective and safer therapies for children.

For information on regulatory compliance, IRB or ethics, contact the Director of the Regulatory Compliance and Research Ethics Unit, Dr. Terry Ackerman.

The CTSI also supports several core technology units, including mouse & Drosophila cores, Flow Cytometry and Imaging labs. For information contact the Directors of the Research Technologies Unit, Dr. Don Thomason and Dr. Mike Whitt.

The Biomedical Informatics Unit has developed a versatile and powerful web-based integrated data storage system, called Slim-Prim. The HIPAA compliant Slim-Prim system allows for the secure collection, storage, and sharing of clinical and basic science research data. For information, contact the Director of the Biomedical Information Sciences Unit, Dr. Robert Williams.

Contact Dr. Ann Cashion, Director of the Community Engagement and Research Unit, for information related to community education and research.

Visit the CTSI Units & Programs page for more information on these and other CTSI Units.
